Cong's Tweet for Gehlot, "Jan Jan Ke Mukhyamantri"

The Congress on Thursday posted a video of Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot responding to a group of students' requests on the same day that senior Congress leader Sachin Pilot began his “Jan Sangharsh Yatra” and referred to him as a “jan jan ke mukhyamantri (people's chief minister)”.

Pilot, a former deputy chief minister of Rajasthan and Gehlot's adversary, departed on his “Jan Sangharsh Yatra” from Ajmer, putting pressure on Gehlot and the central leadership of the Congress in the lead-up to the next assembly elections.

The Congress published a video of a group of students approaching Gehlot on his recent visit to Udaipur and demanding that master's-level instruction be made available at their college in a tweet.

The movie describes how Gehlot responded to their desire right away by issuing instructions to guarantee that the institution provide Masters-level instruction. “Jan jan ke mukhyamantri” appeared with the video that was posted by the Congress.

The Congress claimed in a subsequent tweet that Prime Minister Narendra Modi does not respect the Opposition and speaks about a “Congress-mukt India” in another video of Gehlot addressing the crowd.

The same video of Gehlot's encounter with the kids on May 9 was also posted by the Congress. Intriguingly, Pilot had launched his “Jan Sangharsh Yatra” on that day and noted that Gehlot's most recent address suggested Vasundhara Raje of the BJP was the actual leader, not Sonia Gandhi.

Although the party's media department head, Pawan Khera, characterized Pilot's comment as a “joke” and “laughable” on Wednesday, the Congress has been mainly silent over Pilot's yatra. Pilot had observed a day-long fast the previous month in protest of the Gehlot administration's alleged “inaction” in instances of corruption while the BJP controlled the state.

Pilot spoke to a crowd of onlookers on the Jaipur Highway in Ajmer on Thursday before beginning the 125-km-long five-day yatra. He brought up the subject of leaked test questions for various government positions. For more over two years, Gehlot and Pilot have been openly at odds with one another. Pilot has organized a party uprising in 2020 to demand a change in state leadership. Pilot and some of his allies were eventually expelled from the state government, but Gehlot was able to endure.

In his remarks at a public event on Sunday in Dholpur, the chief minister said that he had escaped a mutiny by certain Congress MLAs in 2020 because BJP leaders Vasundhara Raje and Kailash Meghwal had refused to back a plot to overthrow an elected government through financial influence.

A few days later, Pilot attacked Gehlot for his remarks, claiming it looked Vasundhara Raje, not Sonia Gandhi, was the senior Congressman's leader. In addition, he denied any financial ties between the BJP and the dissidents he had headed.
