Mangalore will host the first-ever International Stand-Up Paddling Championship starting on March 8

<p>It was announced here on Thursday that the Association of Paddle Surf Professionals (APP) World Tour, in association with Karnataka Tourism, would host the first-ever International Stand-Up Paddling Championship from March 8–10 at the gorgeous Sasihithlu Beach, Mangalore, Karnataka.</p>

<p>The first international SUP tournament in India will take place before to the start of the 2024 APP World Tour.</p>
<p>“We are really happy to be entering India for the first time with Karnataka Tourism and the Surfing Swami Foundation. India Paddle Festival CEO Tristan Boxford stated in a statement, “We hope that the festival will help the sport get the much-needed push to expand in the region.” “The athletes will have the chance to compete on an international scale thanks to this championship,” he said.</p>
<p>At the India Paddle Festival, all eyes will be on Shuri Araki, the youngest Japanese athlete to win a world title at the youthful age of sixteen. The 17-year-old Japanese Araki and India’s World No. 1 Sekar Patchai will be among the players on display.</p>
<p>Patchai acknowledged that he was carrying the aspirations and dreams of a whole country with him, and he was excited to prove himself against the finest in the field and raise awareness of stand-up paddling in India.</p>
<p>“We have long anticipated India to host an international event of this magnitude. Sekar Patchai said, “It’s an opportunity for stand-up paddlers like me to learn from elite international athletes and improve their skills and techniques.” “We are excited about the India Paddle Festival and hope that the Indian paddlers can perform well and present the international athletes with a formidable challenge.” I’m eager about the occasion, and I’m preparing myself well,” he said.</p>
