IPL 2023, RR vs. RCB: Rajasthan, Bangalore Seek to Break Free of Mid-table Stalemate

IPL 2023 playoff contention is still alive. The resurgent Rajasthan Royals will host a battered Royal Challengers Bangalore in Jaipur in an effort to build on their commanding performance against the Kolkata Knight Riders, which saw them chase down 150 in 13.1 overs due to the teenage Yashasvi Jaiswal's whirlwind 98 not out.

Two consecutive losses have harmed RCB's chances of finishing in the top four, and one more slip-up might be expensive.
With only one run separating Jaiswal and RCB skipper Faf du Plessis in the hunt for the Orange Cap, it will be a confrontation.
Jaiswal increased his total to 575 runs, while Du Plessis has 576 runs. Who will prevail in Sunday's high-profile match is still up in the air.
It will be a run-fest for the spectators if both fire on Sunday.

Where: Jaipur's Sawai Mansingh Stadium

RCB will also want to avoid a hat-trick of losses after losing their most recent two games against the Mumbai Indians and the last-place Delhi Capitals.
On the other side, the Royals, who had suffered three straight losses, got back on track with a convincing nine-wicket win against the Kolkata Knight Riders on Thursday with to Jaiswal's 47-ball 98 and captain Sanju Samson's 48 off 29 deliveries while pursuing a manageable 150-run goal.
Even though Jos Buttler struggled against KKR, he still poses a serious danger to the Royals together with Jaiswal at the top of the order.
In the presence of Joe Root, Druv Jurel, and Shimron Hetmyer, RR's middle-order also seems to be rather powerful.

On the bowling front, New Zealand fast Trent Boult has been dependable up front and returned with two wickets in their most recent game, while leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal sparkled against KKR with outstanding numbers of 4/25.
Sandeep Sharma has been supporting Boult well at the beginning, and the Rajasthan franchise has an experienced client in the form of Ravichandran Ashwin who, on his best days, has the capacity to alter the match on his own.
On the other side, RCB lost their most recent two matches against the Delhi Capitals and Mumbai Indians, and they would be anxious to reverse the situation with a convincing victory.
While Virat Kohli has flashed in spots during the tournament, du Plessis has been solid with the bat overall, and RCB needs both hitters to light up the top order to give them a strong start.
For RCB, Australian Glenn Maxwell has recently shown excellent form with the bat, but he will need more help from players like Mahipal Lomror, Anuj Rawat, and Dinesh Karthik.
With 15 wickets from 11 games, Mohammed Siraj has emerged as the team's most successful bowler. Mohammed Siraj has led the way for RCB in the bowling department.
To stop RR, however, Siraj needs help from people like Josh Hazlewood, Wanindu Hasaranga, Harshal Patel, and Vijaykumar Vyshak.
The Royals have the upper hand on the points chart as well since they are ranked fourth while RCB are ranked sixth.
